For the development of standard building projects you may be able to fast track your application by following a Complying Development Certificate process. Developments that can be built under a Complying Development Certificate are:

  • New One Storey Home
  • New Two Storey Home
  • House Renovation
  • Granny Flat (up to 60m2)
  • Garage
  • Carport
  • Swimming Pool
  • Addition or Extension
  • Industrial Building

The process that is followed to obtain a Complying Development Certificate is fast tracked by combining the Development Application and Construction Certificate applications together. This combined application is assessed through the local council or by a Principal Certifying Authority (PCA, usually called a Private Certifier). A Complying Development Consent Certificate can be issued in as little as 14 days.
